Rant-worthy
Ok, so, I created this blog months ago thinking “great! A little anonymous place where I can rant and bitch about whatever I want and be anonymous”. Only to realize I haven’t got much to bitch about. Some might say I’m a lucky girl to say that….but then my “non-anonymous anyone can read if they like happy fuzzy blog hasn’t been updated in months either”. Anyway, I finally found something worth ranting secretly about. My boyfriend of about 5 years or so and I are moving in together….wheee, yay fun great! Problem is, my parents are against it. Not so bad right?….ya, EXCEPT that they are against it based on religious grounds. Because in the bible it says that co-habitation leads to temptation leads to fornication leads to HELL-o!….already crossed that fornication line a long time ago. So then what?
Another problem with all this is that my parents are paying for my rent (studying abroad, very far from home, parents helping out financially)…and that my mother is uncomfortable paying the rent knowing that I’m living with my boyfriend….because she sent me here to get an education not to live in sin…as if she thinks once I move in with my bf I will be incapable of successfully completing my masters….not to mention the money she would save on rent from us living together.
So how do you argue something like this? I asked them what they would have me do, but got no answer. I guess when it comes to belief systems you just can’t argue it. She thinks I’m wrong and I think I’m completely innocent. And that’s that. I suppose it will all change when I get married…or have kids…but it won’t be soon and it definitely won’t be in a church…oh and the kids won’t be baptized either.
